Anastasia Torres-Gil

I use acrylics to create portraits of people and animals.  Many of my animal subjects are discovered at local shelters and the vibrancy of their personalities can’t be contained using traditional colors and methods.  These hearts are big and bold and beautiful.

My work has been exhibited in New York City as well as in the Bay Area, most recently at the Pajaro Valley Arts Council (www.pvarts.org). I also take the mundane in textiles and upcycle it into wearable art.  To learn more, visit www.MyFavoriteCouture.com or view my work at the San Jose Museum of Quilts and Textiles (www.sjquiltmuseum.org)
