More than 20 years ago my love for taking pictures was sparked with the introductory photography class I took in high school. Being a natural observer, I fell in love with the experience of viewing the world around me through a camera lens. Time passed quickly and easily as I snapped pictures on my borrowed manual Pentax K1000 and spent hours in the school’s darkroom producing black and white prints. I had found my passion. A lot has changed since then with the introduction of digital photography but, both then and now, when I look through the lens of a camera the world around me quiets and fades away as I focus in on the subject before me. For me it is the ultimate form of meditation. In my photography I strive to show a different perspective of the ordinary, capturing the details not seen at first glance, and on occasion I come across something extraordinary.
