Deana Glenz

I moved to Santa Cruz at the age of 17.  I always knew I didn’t belong in the high mountain desert of Eastern Oregon and couldn’t wait to be by the sea.  I fell in love with photography at a young age. I took my first photography class as a freshman in high school. I remember walking into that classroom the first day with my trusty old Minolta in hand.  I was so happy to have an unlimited supply of black and white film and all the dark room time I wanted.  I purchased my first DSLR in 2001 and haven’t looked back.   I spent a few years shooting weddings and portraits, but found that landscapes and wildlife are much more soothing.  I feel honored to have images hanging in the homes of my friends and family and was blown away to have images chosen to hang at Google and Yahoo.  After having spinal surgery a few years ago, I gave up my secular job driving bus and now spend my days out on the gorgeous Monterey Bay hoping to capture images of our magnificent marine life. I hope that you enjoy my work.  If you would like to view more of my work, please visit www.deana-glenz.pixels.com
