Kathleen Miller Thomas

Kathleen Miller Thomas works primarily in oil, pastel, as well as mixed-media.  Ms. Miller Thomas’ early years in Southern California and Hawaii are reflected in her use of color.  A long time resident of the Central Coast of California, she has studied with local artists, including Barbara Bailey-Porter, Joan Hellenthal, Cathy Williams, and Elizabeth Williams, as well as Kristen Olson and Brooks Anderson.  In addition, she studied in France with Mary Offermann, and with Jerry McClish and Mauro Lucarini at La Romita School of Art, Terni, Italy.

The University of California at Santa Cruz purchased her Despair and Hope, a mixed media piece, for the McHenry Library Special Collections.

Ms. Miller Thomas was selected as cover artist for a poetry chapbook, Behind the Fog, by Ellen Hart.  Another painting was selected as the poster for “In Celebration of the Muse,” Santa Cruz Women Writers Reading.
